The present high altar, designed by Antonio Sarti, was erected in 1843. It is in the Neo-Classical style, far removed from the Baroque opulence of the rest of the church. It is dominated by four columns of antique yellow under a neo-classical pediment. Above the pediment is the symbol of the Jesuits witn a glory.
