Tomb slab for Egidius de Varnsberg (d. 1312), Abbot of Weiszenburg in Alsace, who died in the streetfighting when the Emperor Henry VII. tried to force his way from the Lateran to the Vatican to be crowned King of the Romans and the Roman people barricaded the streets about the Via Papalis against him.
