Behind the reclining statue of the pope is the Madonna and Child, ascribed to Alessandro Scherano di Settignano following a model made by Michelangel. To the left is a Sibyl and a Prophet to the right, both ascribed to Raffaello da Montelupo, one of Michelangelo's assistants. The pope's effigy has been ascribed to Tommaso Boscoli, but the face may have been carved by Michelangelo.
