The monumental cenotaph of Pope Julius II with the famous Moses by Michelangelo in the center. The cenotaph was squeezed into the right hand end of the transept in 1545 where it is completely out of scale. The original concept was for the tomb to be beneath the dome in the new St Peter's Basilica.
