Above the entrance is a plaque commemorating the church restoration
by Virginio Vespignani between 1866-77, commissioned by Pius IX.
In a cove in the ceiling is the church's dedication.
"Peter Aldobrandini, cardinal and Camerlengo of the
Holy Roman Church, gave [this church] as a gift to the
Mother of God and Virgin Mary, assumed into heaven,
in the year 1617"
