San Martino ai Monti

The brickwork of the church walls is typical 9th century work. The fabric is mostly re-used brick and render, but the lower part of the wall on Via Equizia is made of large blocks of tufa. This is thought by some to be a remnant of the original church, and the blocks to be spoila from some ancient structure such as the Servian Wall nearby.
