High on the walls above the frieze is a projecting cornice and the top piece of wall between the three large windows above the arches supporting the barrel-vaulted ceiling is decorated with frescoes by Domenico Maria Canuti in 1674, depicting the Apotheosis of St Dominic, where San Domenico rises to heaven through sunlit clouds.
