The high altar has a 12th century ciborium. It has four Corinthian columns in pavonazzetto marble supporting a rectangular cornice, on which are six little columns at front and back and five on each side. These in turn support a pitched roof with pediments at front and back; on the tympanum of the front pediment is St Clement's anchor.
