Sanctuary/Transept
In the center of the choir is an inscription in honor of St Alexis that dates from before the 13th century. It is flanked by a pair of little marble columns with incredibly intricate Cosmatesque decoration On one of the columns there is an inscription naming the artist as Jacopo di Lorenzo di Cosma.
