Here on the altar is a 15th century Madonna and Child (also known as the Madonna of Constantinople) by Antoniazzo Romano, which was donated to the church by Cardinal Bessarion. It is a beautiful work, and interesting as a survival of a derivative Byzantine style in Rome at this late period.
