The presbyterium is defined by a pair of screen walls in between the furthest pair of pillars and the far wall of the church, and each wall contains two arches. Above the arches is polychrome marble decoration in opus sectile, featuring a floral motif in an oblate octagonal panel. This motif is now replicated in modern frescoing over the chapels.
